Today is OUR Day: Living Large in Our Little House, the book
Today is our day, Living Largers! Today is the day my book, “Living Large in Our Little House: Thriving in 480 Square Feet With Six Dogs, a Husband And One Remote…Plus More Stories of How You Can Too” begins shipping. I have you to thank, Living Large in Our Little House exists because of you!
When I started writing this blog in 2009, there weren’t yet many resources out there for people in the tiny house movement. There were a few blogs, but many of them were about the design and build. Kent Griswold’s Tiny House Blog was one of the first and the most popular, featuring dreamy tiny homes from all over the world.
But there weren’t many, if any blogs about the lifestyle. That’s how Living Large in Our Little House was born, to provide a community for people to discuss the many rewards and challenges of tiny house living.
The book is a culmination of a nearly 7 year dream for the blog, but it’s also the result of a lifelong dream to write a book for Reader’s Digest and I have you to thank!
Some of you have been reading the blog since its inception and some of you are new. I want you to know that I so much appreciate all of you.
I hope you enjoy “Living Large in Our Little House: Thriving in 480 Square Feet With Six Dogs, a Husband And One Remote…Plus More Stories of How You Can Too” and I hope you will order a copy today!
In the meantime, enjoy some of the photos from Our Little House through the years.

I have just started following your posts and blog and love all of the wonderful information that you have provided along with some very useful links. I am hoping to soon be able to afford a tiny home of my very own and am planning on implementing some of your ideas into it. Thank you for sharing and the opportunity to get a copy of your book!
This is our dream and plan in 3 years! I love learning from your experiences. …. thirsty for more!
I love seeing how others live small and simplify their lives!
I have 6 children 2dogs, one pig, 3 goats, 2 turkeys, and some chickens. We live in a double wide manufacture home that is 3 bedrooms. I do t know how we do it but we manage. I am always looking for orangization ideas because we seem to get so crammed in our tiny space. I guess the fact that we do is true love lol. I would love to win this book and get more insight as to other people’s ways. Thank you
I would LOVE to be able to win this book. Im still in the infancy stages of getting my tiny building to the point of living in it and I would love to see how it works out from people that have been there done that. I need a bit of guidance and focus
Love reading about how you live with less. It is inspiring me to downsize on my possessions even though I will not be living in a tiny house.
Your blog is so refreshing and fun. Even for those of us who need more room (or think we do), it’s fascinating to read about how you and others flourish in less space.
I love hearing about your dogs and your time on the lake. I still don’t know how you manage in a small house with so many dogs!
I love seeing and reading about other people’s ideas about saving space and looking at their designs. It’s amazing what some people can do with such small spaces. Love it!!!
