There's a chintzy, little book called "Practical Pizzas" that has some really good, from-scratch crust recipes--all of which are easy to make. It includes potato bases as well, for that breakfasty pizza thing.

I am a huge tortilla soup fan!!! a friend intoduced me to it at pot luck Christmas party way back in the 80's. It has become one of my family and friends fav's. Somehow had some left over the last time I made it and it is in the Freezer for a quick pick me up with no fuss for the near future. Being a single person, I don't eat out that much...but friends and I get together at least 2x a month. When we do..I always take 1/2 or more home and have a yummy lunch and dinner the next day! Sometimes, by the time we get through the appetizer, bread and salad courses I am so full I just wrap the whole entree up to come home with me.

On another note, getting ready to close on the new Lake Cabin next week and getting excited to be moving to my little country place. Have been frantically, sifting and sorting and giving away stuff....but I fear I still have WAY too much stuff. Back to sifting/sorting for me today! Maybe need to heat up that Tortilla Soup for later. Thanks, For reminding me I had it. Cindyt

Yesterday ended up not being bad. The ice melted and snow didn't stick. By afternoon, it was just a very cold rain. Now we're hoping we'll get as lucky come the first of the week when the next storm comes. Will winter EVER end!?
I like spaghetti, but can only get away with it once a month or so. Dale doesn't like it.

We have been balancing home-made Thai (Panag Curry Red Chili) with home-made pizza. For the Pizza the simple Jiffy mix....some sauce, moz, and sometime Italian sausage and Artichoke hearts....is it time to eat yet?

Love banana nut bread...I make it often as well. I sugar coat my pans instead of flour.
We eat a lot of soups, my husband and mom love my chicken noodle, make my own noodles. Make a lot of Minnestrone, Lentil, potato, split pea, bean soups. Old favorites. I think the simplier the cooking the better.
